Jesus Christ the Fiery Serpent

Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL

Genesis {2:16} And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: {2:17} But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Father, before We start this study I would ask that you bless us with a heart of flesh, so we may come before your throne humbled in heart and spirit. Give those that are yours the eyes and the ears to understand your Words. Guide us in truth and understanding. I pray that this study does not do as these verses state in

Revelations 22: 18-19 {22:18} For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: {22:19} And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

A-MEN & A-MEN

Let us look a Genesis 2:16-17 and pull out some interesting Points. The Lord God commands Adam not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and evil.

The Bible is the word of God. It is written in a manner no other book ever will be or ever was.  You see only those elect of God and taught of the HOLY SPIRIT can understand its hidden knowledge and mysteries.  This is why the average person reading Genesis 2:16-17 will see a fruit tree of which Adam was not to eat from.  This was God’s Plan for this reason, written in Matt.13: 9-11 (Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.) Evidently, there are two kinds of people, those of the Elect, which it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, and those that shall perish to ever lasting darkness.

MATT.13: 9-11
Let Him Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Matthew 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
ONLY THE ELECT OF GOD CAN UNDERSTAND Parable: is an earthly story with a spiritual meaning.

Lets look at Genesis 2:16-17 once again. Adam was commanded not to eat of a TREE!  We know now that the bible is written in parables. So how do we understand the meaning of a TREE?  To understand the meanings in the Bible we must let the Bible interpret its self. If your answer harmonizes with the rest of the Bible you have found truth.

Psalm 1 Book I
{1:1} Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
{1:2} But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
{1:3} And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
{1:4} The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
{1:5} Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
{1:6} For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Ask God for wisdom and to open your spiritual eyes.

What is a Tree? It is a blessed Man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. FOR HE SHALL BE LIKE A TREE.
Now we can see, a tree is a Godly man.  So Adam was not to eat of the fruit of this godly man.  What Godly man is there in the Bible in which the Bible talks of eating His flesh?  Which would be the equivalent of the fruit of the tree. Just what does eating His flesh represent?

John6: 47} Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. {6:48} I am that bread of life. {6:49} your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. {6:50} This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. {6:51} I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. {6:52} The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat? {6:53} Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. {6:54} Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. {6:55} For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. {6:56} He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. {6:57} As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. {6:58} This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever

From these verses we can see which godly man is talked about in reference to the eating of his flesh. That man is no other then our LORD JESUS CHRIST.  The question may be asked now, but wasn’t Adam and Eve before Jesus?
John{1:1} In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The word was in the beginning, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. When studying this verse many people want to change the meaning to suite their own agenda. They have a problem with, THE WORD WAS GOD.
This is because the Holy Spirit is not teaching them they are none of His.
John{1:14} And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
If they have problems with John 1:1 they are blown away by John 1:14.
The Word was made Flesh. With out going into it in depth, we know that Jesus Christ is the flesh that the Word was changed into. Making, Jesus Christ the very Word of God. There for since the Word was God by verse John1:1 it stands to reason Jesus Christ is God made Flesh.
Now we all know the Word of God is the BIBLE. If Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. It stands to reason Jesus is the living Word, the Bible  and His attributes are written in the Word His Law ( In the volume of the book it is written of me ) The law reflects God’s character:
The Law reflects God’s character. When we survey the scriptural representations of the character of God’s Law, we soon discover that the same moral attributes applied to it are also used in reference to the very being of God. God is good ( Mark 10:18; Ps. 143:10); the Law is good ( Deut. 12:28; Ps. 119:68; Rom 7:12,16). God is holy (Isa. 6:3; Rev 15:4); the Law is holy ( Num.15:40; Rom. 7:12). God is perfect ( 2 Sam. 22:31; Ps 18:30; Matt. 5:48); the Law is perfect ( Ps. 1:25; James 1:25). God is spiritual ( John 4:24); the Law is spiritual ( Rom. 7:14).God is righteous ( Deut. 32:4; Ezra 9:15; Ps. 116:5); the Law is righteous ( Deut. 4:8; Ps. 19:7; Rom. 2:26; 8:4). God is just ( Deut. 32:4; Ps. 25:8, 10; Isa.45:21); the Law is just ( Prov. 28:4, 5: Zech. 7:9-12; Ro. 7:12).
You must eat my flesh and drink my blood!
John 4:31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. {4:32} But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. {4:33} Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him [ought] to eat? {4:34} Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Just what was the meat that Jesus had when He said “ I have meat to eat that ye know not of?” He defines it 2 verses later when he states, “ My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and finish His Work.” We know it was God who sent Him into the world. So what was God’s will? It was to bring the True Gospel to this world. What is the true Gospel? It is none other then God’s Word the Bible, Christ Himself. The Word made flesh.
Drink my blood! For in it is Life!
Deut.{12:23} Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood [is] the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
When you part take of the Lord Supper, What do you do first? You eat the bread and second, you drink the blood.
{39:17} And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, [even] a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. {39:18} Ye shall eat the flesh of
the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. {39:19} And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
Who is the Lord sacrifice? Notice the order first eat the flesh then drink the Blood.
John{6:47} Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
What you should be able to glean from these verses is that Our Lord Jesus Christ is the WORD OF God, and we must eat of His flesh. By John 1:14 we can see his flesh is the Word, the LAW of God, the BIBLE.
Now return to Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it.  We know a tree is a Godly man ( Jesus Christ), and  the eating of the fruit there of, would be the eating of His flesh. From John 1:14 we see His flesh is the Word of God. The Word of God is the LAW.
When Adam, therefore was commanded not to eat of the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AN EVIL. He was really commanded not to  partake in the LAW.  For if you eat of the LAW you shall surely dye in that day.
{2:17} But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
ROMANS {6:23} For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
ROMANS{3:20} Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
Adam and Eve partake in Sin, when they disobey God’s command ( The Law ) not to eat of the tree Of the knowledge of good and evil.
My next question is why did this tree have this name: ( the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil )    What gave Adam and Evil the knowledge that they were naked ?  Does not the Law act as a mirror as you look into the mirror you can see the dirt on you face.  So as you partake in the LAW you can see SIN.

You really think that a loving God is going to kick Adam and Eve  out of Paradise just because they ate an Apple.   But a righteous God would kick them out for disobedience to His LAW.
