Jesus Christ the Fiery Serpent

Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF FLESH AND SPIRIT

MATT.13: 9-11

“ … Ye must be born again “ John 3:7 KJV

Joh: 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. ( WATER = WORD OF GOD : SPIRIT = HOLY SPIRIT IN YOU)

Joh: 3:6: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

When we are born to this earth, our physical bodies,( flesh ) is made up of mostly water. This flesh has no life of its self. But is given life from the gift of the Spirit. This Spirit comes with its own personality, our soul. This Flesh, Spirit, and Soul are so tightly wound that it is hard for and even impossible for an earthly man to see any separation of the three.

Ge: 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The flesh grows, matures, begins to deteriorate, eventually dies, and then decomposes back into it’s constitute elements and remains part of this world. The flesh is part of you but not all of what defines who you are.

Proverb:5:11: And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,

Our soul is that part of us that makes up who we are as a person, your individuality; your “ I AM, “ so to speak, your heart. Though the flesh dies, the soul will exist forever.

M’t:10:28: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

When your body dies your soul ( YOU ) will leave the body of flesh.

Ge:35:18: And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

The Spirit is the life force, your source of power. It gives life to the flesh.

Where your soul spends eternity after it departs is determined by your personal relationship to God. And our election. Ro:9:11: (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

The unsaved man and woman, those that have only the first birth, are in eternal danger. Since the body and soul are bound together. At death the Spirit leaves the body and soul. When this world’s physical elements are cast into the lake of fire ( see Rev. 20:13-15 ) those souls will perish.

So, what exactly is the difference of relationship between the unsaved soul and the saved soul? What does being “ Born Again “ actually mean? The answer is something God does for you at the moment of election, and you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior: An operation. Have you ever been operated on by a doctor? The doctor uses a knife to cut away something that is diseased. Well, God’s “operation “ is similar. Using the sword of the Lord instead of a scalpel the Great Physician Lu:5:31: And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. Sever the connection between your soul and your flesh.

Col:2:12: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead

Heb:4:12: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

This operation is a spiritual circumcision. Your flesh is cut away from your soul and you are given God’s Spirit.

Ro:2:29: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
