Psalm 104:14-15 He causes the grass for cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth, And Wine which makes man's heart glad.
Prophets are some what liken-th to Lawyers of God's Law. It is up to them to interpret the word correctly, and bring it to the people Hos.4:1 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the Land. Mic.6:1 Hear ye now what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and the hills hear the thy voice.
In Is.28:7 we see Isaiah denouncing the prophet who distorts God's message due to drunkenness:
Is.28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
Come, Let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that wemay preserve seed of our father.33. And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in,and lay with her father; andhe perceived notwhen she lay down, nor when shearose.
Meanings of Wine.
We are embarking on a search for answers to a serious and perplexing problem:
To discover the truth about the binding character of the institution of marriage. In our day, virtually every church and denomination has decided that under certain conditions a marriage can be broken and the divorced are permitted to remarry.
Such permissive rules are taught and preached as the Word of God. Solemnly, pastors claim that they have the full authority of God to encourage divorce under certain conditions and to call God to witness the joining together in marriage of those who have been divorced from their first spouse. What does the Bible say
This is one view.
Jesus changes the washing of sin by the Law in the old Testament, to the washing of sins by the Blood in the New Testament.
But does it contain Alcohol?
(Isa. 65 :8)
WINE AND MIRACLES
WATER INTO WINE, BEGINNING OF MIRACLES
JOHN 2: 1- And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
JESUS SAITH UNTO THEM,FILL THE WATERPOTS WITH WATER. AND THEY FILLED THEM UP TO THE BRIM.
And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Without a parable spake he not unto them
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
Lets look at these verses as a parable and see what we can discover.
The number of man Six
Gen.1: 27 and 31
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him; male and female created he them.
And God Saw everything that he made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Rev.13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.
Six pots repersent man
ISAIAH 64:8 BUT NOW, O LORD, THOU ART OUR FATHER; WE ARE THE CLAY, AND THOU ARE THE POTTER; AND WE ALL ARE THE WORK OF THY HAND.
JEREMIAH 18:1-6 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
And there were set there six waterpots of stone. These waterpots represent man, for the number of man is six.
And the water pots can clearly be associated with man from the verses above on pots.
Water equals Gospel, word of God, Jesus, Holy Spirit:
John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 14:16-20 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
So from the above verses we see the pots represent man, and the water represent the gospel and the holy spirit.
Wine represents Blood, blood is life! Gen. 49:11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: Gen.9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
So putting all the peaces together, we arrive at the parable which Jesus is portraying here and it is this! Jesus causes the Gospel to enter a man and he has eternal life. By the washing of the HOLY SPIRIT, The Life in the Blood!
Grape Juice vs Wine
This miracle could not of been water to grape juice because grape juice is dead, while wine has yeast which is alive in the wine, showing there is life in the blood! Jesus changes the washing of sin by the Law in the old Testament, to the washing of sins by the Blood in the New Testament.
